Faculty of Education

From the academic year 2025/26, you can look forward to a completely renovated building of the Faculty of Education in Čs. mládeže Street. The modern building is designed with the needs of contemporary education in mind, offering comfortable lecture halls, seminar rooms and relaxation areas where students can concentrate on individual preparation or on informal discussions. The long-awaited relocation of all faculty departments into one complex and embedding them in the dynamic environment of the university campus will bring students an inspiring environment where they can develop not only academically but also personally.

On a broader scale, research in the field of pedagogy, special pedagogy, kinanthropology, artistic and artistic-didactic activities form the main component of scientific and creative activities at the Faculty of Education.

Specialized laboratories, such as the Functional Diagnostics and Sports Motor Laboratory, and centres, such as the Centre for the Development of Educational Psychology, are available for academic staff and students in connection with research activities. Faculty students have the opportunity to carry out their research and other creative activities with the support of grant scholarships. The results of research and creative activities are successfully presented by students of Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral study programmes at domestic and international scientific conferences, which are the basis for internationalisation.

At the Faculty, we organize international scientific conferences (International Conference of Sport, Health and Physical Education, International Conference of Psychomotoricity, Challenges of Foreign Language Teaching, International Didactic Conference of Music Education for the 3rd Millennium, Cantus Choralis), musical performances, art exhibitions, sporting events or workshops and seminars for the general and professional public.

We are among the leaders in supporting the development of inclusive education in the Czech Republic and abroad. Thanks to its research activities, the Centre for Social Innovation and Inclusion in Education enables the creation of an optimal pro-inclusive educational environment in schools and carries out monitoring of activities based on work with families and also the integration of pupils at risk of social exclusion.

Our aim is to use the results of creative activity in a practical environment. Students are involved in activities in project teams, where they gain valuable experience applicable not only in their studies but also in their future life. Creative activities are realized in the field of art and pedagogy, pedagogy, special education, psychology or kinantropology. Newly equipped laboratories (EEG Laboratory, Sports Laboratory, Digital Literacy Laboratory) provide the background for research activities at our faculty.
